I believe you are correct about a caravan. I believe that the Henry Miller/Malinda Engler family may have participated, and also a bunch of the Hudson family, as well as several other families who intermarried extensively with them. I am wondering about the McMurtrys and Hargraves in particular. They went to Ohio Co, KY, many settling somewhere around Beaver Dam and Centertown, some going to what would be Butler Co. I don't remember which dates that Muhlenburg, McLain, Daviess, or Butler co were created, but I have mostly seen our families in Ohio Co and Butler, with a few in Muhlenberg. Some of these families were originally in NJ, MD, or DE; the Hudsons were from DE. The next exodus was out of KY and into Warrick County. Asahel Hinman began that flight in about 1818, having been caught twice on the losing end of conflicting land patents. Indiana was attractive because it was all being surveyed so that land titles could be defended. His son had married a Hudson, and they lived near a bunch of other Millers, and the big move to Indiana occurred over about a 20-year time period. I am trying to work out some specific issues about multiple Millers with the same given names, and will contact you in a separate posting about that. Notify Administrator about this message?
