BONE, WORTH/WARTH
Posted by: Judy Warth (ID *****4858) Date: February 12, 2009 at 08:05:35

I am writing with regard to the queries on the family of Scott C. and Mary W Worth/WARTH BONE.

Mary was the daughter of Robert Gates Worth and Emily S. Mershon. Robert Gates Worth was the son of Robert WARTH and Julia Gates WARTH of Gallipolis, Ohio. Robert Jr must have seen fit to change the spelling of his name, perhaps due to the fact that his father had a less than stellar reputation back in OHIO regarding his financial dealings. Or maybe he just got tired of people misspelling and misprounouncing 'Warth'. His siblings retained the correct spelling.

At any rate, the Warth's in general have a pretty decent family history...nothing to be ashamed of. And if you're researching Mary Worth....or Robert G Worth, you won't find any history unless you try WARTH.
