Yes, I do think that it is very interesting. I just happened upon the entry in this excellent book, while doing research for some of the Ireland based Y-DNA projects that I administrate for.
It got me to thinking that this is a question that might be answered definitively by Y-DNA analysis, which is only passed from father to son. I personally do not run a Bone Y-DNA Project, but I noticed that there is a Bones Y-DNA Project at FTDNA, and they list the surnames of Bone and de Bohun as eligible to join the project.
I am also descended from the Bone family. My ancestors are William Bone and his wife Margaret Lansden. Their daughter, Margaret "Peggy" K. Bone is my 4 times great grandmother.
Oh, and by the way, because you are a male with the surname of Bone, your Y-DNA test results might possibly end up matching the de Bohuns of England. It would be fun to find out.
