I found a marriage between William Niven and Agnes Bone, 21 May 1854, St. Quivox and Newton, Ayrshire, Scotland. I believe them to be the parents of Margaret [Maggie] who married, about 1885 in America [probably Pennsylvania], William Allison, whose parents may also have been from the same parish.

His parents were Samuel Allison and Ellen/Helen McCartney. There is a marriage recorded in the registers of St. Quivox and Newton for Samuel Allison and Helen McCartney on 22 Oct 1854. William Allison came to America c1881, alone as far as I can tell. He and Maggie lived in Jefferson County, PA after they were married. I can't find a marriage record for them.

Did Maggie Niven come to America alone? I cannot find the names of William and Agnes (Bone) Niven on any of the censuses, so am wondering if they stayed in Scotland.
