I have traced my line back to John Bone born about 1810 who resided in Warrick County, Indiana. He married a Artemis Small in Nov 1836 here in Warrick County. They couple had two sons before he passed away in 1849, just before the 1850 census. The records all indicate he died of Cholera in Helena, AR. I have no idea why or how he ended up in AR. John's wife Artemis remained in Indiana where she continued to raise her young sons. Each son raised his family here and I am descended through the younger son -John Cornelius Bone {b Oct 1838 d. Jan 1925}. (The elder child was William Henry Bone {b. May 1837 d. 1900). The only other Bone I could find in this area in the 1830's was a Triphena Bone who married a Charles Little. He was a MEC minister. This appears to be a second marriage for her. I have reason to believe that Triphena came to Indiana from Muhlenburgh County, KY and may in some way been related to the John Bone who was a revolutionary soldier from Muhlenbugh County, KY. I personally believe that he and the John Bone from Hickman County, KY where somehow related as well. I have been trying to peice together this segment for years now. I have bits and peices that all seem to interrelate however I have found no formal documentation to support my theory. This I know- Triphena Reeves married a Cornelius Bone in Muhlenburgh County, KY in 1810. Cornelius fought in the Battle of New Orleans and there is not mention of him after that. Triphena is on the 1820 and 1830 census but not on the 1840 census in Muhlenburgh County. The 1830 census was very hard to read but it did look like she may have had one small child under age 10 in the household at the time. In 1840 in Warrick County Charles Little is listed. He was not listed on the 1830 census in Indiana. In 1838 there is a marriage record for Charles & Triphena in Warrick County, IN.

I personally believe Triphena may have been my John Bone's {b. 1810} mother. The age and time frames all seem to fit. Another John Bone from revolutionary soldier from Muhlenburgh Couty,KY left behind a will when he passed away however there was no menion of Cornelius Bone -- Perhaps because Cornelius died years before him. There was nother John Bone - revltionary soldier from Hickman County, KY about the same time. He also left behind a will but again there was no mntion of Cornelius. I beleive these two John's to be two of the three mentioned in the book who traveled with the caravan from NC through TN and on into KY. It would make since if some of them established in MO that they would have had to travel through Indiana or IL to get there. There is another John Harbison Bone who lives upstate in Indiana but to date I have found nothing that links my clan to his. He was believed to have married at least three times and have something like 24 children between the 3 marriages. In fact in my research I have leaned that none of the names and dates seem to correlate his clan with mine.

I am looking for links in the 3 John Bones from KY. FYI... Muhlenburgh County, Hickman County and ??? Coincidentally Warrick County is about an hours drive today from Muhlenburgh County.
