Hello, Everyone:
Sorry to cross post, but many people do not realize that the Boan families of Chesterfield Co,SC were originally Bone.
I hope you do not mind taking a look at my Bone/Boan family. If any one is interested, please drop me a line. I thank you in advance.
My Bone/Boan family is a bit confusing—Bone married Bone. I am having an extremely tough time going further back than I have because of lack of records (Sherman burnt Chesterfield and the 1890 census burning has caused me problems because of when my Bones were born), or I am just not looking in the right place. It is more than likely for both reasons. They fit no where that I can find with all of the above Bone/Boan families of Chesterfield and surrounding counties--unless I have them in the below Modified Registers. My Bone/Boan families are of Chesterfield County, SC.
Here are my Bone families. (You will see that the spelling started out as Bone and just after the Civil War (1870 census) it changed to Boan (for the most part) and then somewhere before or during the 1880 census it changed to Bowen (for the most part) and then back to Boan in the census’ there after. I did not show the change to Bowen in my modified register charts.) I have two direct branches. You will see a bit of repetitiveness in the below charts because of the inter-family marriages. I am a granddaughter of Amie Boan and Henry James Poston, Sr.

1. Jesse Bone was born about 1806. Jesse married Elizabeth Nelson "Betsy". Elizabeth was born about 1817.

+ 8 M vii. Jesse Allen Bone was born about 1849. He died on 11 Feb 1933.
9 M viii. David Bone was born about 1850.
10 M ix. James Bone was born about 1852.
11 M x. Archie Bone was born about 1854.
12 M xi. John S. Bone was born about 1856.
13 F xii. Elizabeth Bone was born about 1858.
14 F xiii. Catherine Bone was born about 1864. She died on 2 Apr 1924 in Cole Hill Township, Chesterfield Co., SC. She was buried in Bethesda UMC Cemetry, Patrick, Chesterfield, SC.
+ 15 F xiv. Emma Jane Bone was born on 16 Oct 1865. She died on 19 May 1927.
Second Generation
3. Alfred Bone (Jesse) was born about 1836. Alfred married Elizabeth Unknown . Elizabeth was born about 1836.
They had the following children:
16 M i. Joseph Boan was born about 1859.
6. Caroline Bone (Jesse) was born in Apr 1843. She died on 1 Apr 1920. Caroline married Richard Jordan Boan son of David Boan and Ann Jordan. Richard was born about 1839/1841. He died about 1920.
Richard and Caroline had the following children:

8. Jesse Allen Bone (Jesse) was born about 1849. He died on 11 Feb 1933. He was buried on 12 Feb 1933. Jesse married Lizzie Bone in 1882. Lizzie was born about 1866.
They had the following children:
+ 18 M i. Willie Alexander Boan was born on 24 Sep 1891. He died on 8 Sep 1962.
15. Emma Jane Bone (Jesse) was born on 16 Oct 1865. She died on 19 May 1927. She was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC.
She had the following children:
19 F i. Elizabeth Ann Boan was born on 17 Feb 1885. She died on 12 Feb 1958. She was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC.

24 M iv. Jessie Daniel Boan was born on 16 Jan 1907. He died on 23 Dec 1917 in Cole Hill Township, Chesterfield Co., SC. He was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC.
25 M v. John Boan was born about 1910.
26 M vi. Arthur L. Boan was born on 19 Feb 1910. He died on 8 Apr 1916. He was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC.
27 M vii. Lacoste Boan was born on 2 Dec 1912. He died on 17 Nov 1990. He was buried in Cross Branch Church Cemetery, Chesterfield Co., SC. Lacoste married Daisy Tyner . Daisy was born on 21 Oct 1917. She died on 28 Jan 1991. She was buried in Cross Branch Church Cemetery, Chesterfield Co., SC.
28 M viii. Oscar Boan was born about 1915.
29 M ix. James C. Boan was born about 1917.
30 M x. John Boan was born about 1924.
31 M xi. Luke Boan was born about 1924.
32 F xii. Alene Boan was born about 1925.
18. Willie Alexander Boan (Jesse Allen, Jesse) was born on 24 Sep 1891 in Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC. He died on 8 Sep 1962. He was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC. Willie married Minnie Lee Boan daughter of Alfred Thomas Boan and Annie Eliza Gainey in 1917. Minnie was born on 5 May 1900 in South Carolina. She died on 15 Oct 1931 in Court House Township, Chesterfield Co., SC. She was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC.

Annie was born about 1910. She died on 5 Dec 1969. She was buried in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Patrick, Chesterfield Co., SC. Elisha and Annie Boan lived in Marlboro County before they died. (They supposedly lived near other family members. Near whom I do not know. This is what I have been told by my aunt.)

12 M i. Jessie Loyd Boan. Jessie married Bernice Louise Thomas.
4. Almana Boan (Alfred Thomas) was born on 12 Sep 1909 in Chesterfield Co., SC. She died on 18 May 1951. Almana married Norman Elmore Crowley son of Charles H. Crowley and Sara Ann Cassidy on 4 Dec 1925 in Chesterfield Co., SC. Norman was born on 6 Dec 1903 in Chesterfield Co., SC. He died on 11 Mar 1967.
They had the following children:

15 M iii. Jim Crowley.
16 F iv. Patty Crowley.
17 F v. Wanda Crowley.
18 M vi. E. C. Crowley was born on 13 Sep 1927. He died on 25 Jul 1998. E. C. Crowley married Norma Gulledge. Norma was born on 27 Feb 1934. She died on 4 Aug 1963.
19 F vii. Hazel Crowley. Hazel married Floyd W. Therrell . Floyd was born on 4 Aug 1929. He died on 19 Jul 1981.
20 F viii. Doris Crowley. Doris married June Barefoot .
