Bone family in Yorkshire

I am about to start researching my family history. My father,Frederick, was born in Cottingham, near Hull, Yorkshire as was his father before him. I had a cousin named John Bone, whose father, Herbert, was also born in Cottingham. Unfortunately now both are deceased. Any information on the Bone name and history would be very welcome.
