Dear Marvin,
I am very excited about the information you have posted here, especially the part about Claiborne's father being Thomas Miles Bondurant.I have spent much time working on Claiborne's line because I had a clue that he might be a brother to Francis Bondurant (Bundren) of Claiborne Co., TN who I believe was a brother to my direct ancestor, Richard Bondurant (Bundron).I have quite a bit of information about this group that I will gladly share if you are interested in it.I've tracked Claiborn from Henry Co., VA through TN to DeKalb Co., AL, but I do not know his wife's maiden name.I have information on five of his children.I am anxious to know if the information you have about Claiborne's parentage is documented. If it is, it could make a major change in some of the Bondurant lines. It has been my working theory that Claiborn was the son of Richard Bondurant Sr. b. 22 Aug 1740, but there have been reports about a Thomas Bondurant who married a Sarah Maxe (no doubt Maxey), but this does not appear to be the same as the Rev. Thomas (often listed as Thomas Miles) who married Rhoda Agee UNLESS Rev. Thomas married twice.Ancestry.com World Tree (Family Tree of Christopher Hawkins)also shows Claiborne as son of Thomas Bondurant and Sarah Maxey. To date, the data I have seen compiled shows that Rev. Thomas was the son of John, son of Jean Pierre. If these data are right and your listing and the Christopher Hawkins data are accurate, then it would have to mean that Thomas Miles and Rev. Thomas are the same person.I hope that this message makes sense.I've been looking for some verified data on some of these folks for so long that I'm probably rambling. If you haven't already done so and if you have a moment to spare, could you send a message to Debbie at this [email protected] ?She is a descendant of Lafayette Jefferson Berlin Bondurant who is also working on this lineage.I will appreciate any information you are willing to share.I did check the data on the website and will check it again at a later date, but I'm not handy at FTM so I'm not sure if you can post the documentation so that I can view it.If it would be easier, please contact me at [email protected] for posting the info. This is exciting!!!
