Henry Bond's "Genealogies of Watertown"
I am looking for information on Dr. Henry Bond who wrote:
"Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the early settlers of Watertown"
This is considered to be one of the classics of 19th century genealogies. It was published c1850, has over 1000 pages and is often cited by more recent professionals.
Ihave information through the dedication of another genealogy book that Henry Bond may have been the son of another Henry, married Hannah (Stearns) Bond.
"Henry Bond, M.D., only son of Henry Bond and Hannah (Stearns) Bond, to whom we are all indebted for the first
genealogy of the Stearns family published in 1855, under the title of "Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts."
I happened to be descended from Isabella (Bacon), born July 13, 1846 who married Charles Henry Bond in Washington, D.C. on May 1, 1883. They settled in Swampscott, Mass.
They had a daughter, Edith Louise Bond at Cliftondale on Feb. 14, 1884 who married Frederick Hugo Stearns on April 11, 1912.
I seek to discover what, if any, is the relationship between Charles Henry Bond and Henry Bond who married Hannah [Stearns] Bond. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all!
