I have an old letter from a distant cousin with whom I lost touch that claims that my Manning MARTIN b 1758 Ireland married Margaret BONAR.

Children: Hannah, Jane, Leah, Martha, Mary Ann, Rachel, Sarah, Catherine Thomas (b 1790 m James SLATER), Margaret (b Jan 17, 1798 married John BROCKMAN) and John T. (1820).

I suspect that Manning MARTIN was married more than once, as supposedly he was married to a Jane THOMAS. The letter I have claims that Margaret BONAR was the mother of my ancestor Margaret MARTIN (who married into the BROCKMAN family.) Unfortunately, no proof of this was given.

When Manning MARTIN died in 1825, Barnet BONAR was appointed guardian for the two children of Manning MARTIN, namely John and Sarah MARTIN, who were under age. His wife was deceased by then.

Any help, tips, would be appreciated. I'd love to know who Margaret BONAR's parents were and when she married Manning MARTIN.

Thanks.
