Charles Bombard and Anastasie Diguette had a son Alexandre who married Eliza Blais, according to a cemetery inscription (St JB Keeseville). According to census listings, they appear to have had only one child, named George, who is buried in the same plot. Also buried in the plot is Mabel, who I've assumed to be a daughter, though I've found no record of her elsewhere. Bev posted two marriage records from St. John the Baptist of Keeseville that had me confused: Bombardier, Alexandre (s/o Charles & Elisa Blase/Blair) married Elizabeth Bourgeois 1 sep 1889 Bombardier, George Alexis (s/o Alexander & Elisa Bourgeois) married Mable Marie Tremblay 9 Oct 1921 Now I'm thinking that the Mable buried with George's family is George's wife, and that Eliza Blaise is the same as Elizabeth Bourgeois. In which case, that first marriage record is incorrect, and Elizabeth's alias (which I guess was recorded) was mistakenly listed as Alexander's mother's name. In support of this notion is the 1900 census listing, in which Eliza states that she has only the one child, George. In the 1920 census, George is still living with his parents, which is consistent with his marriage date above. There are apparently no other children. In searching the various forums, I learned that a Keeseville family by the name of Bourgeois did indeed use the name Blaise. Does anyone have any further information that might help confirm this?
