Hi Jennifer, How exciting to come across your request when browsing. I am Joy Boman Horejsi, oldest child of Emil. I grew up on the John and Kristina homestead as did my father and his siblings. We(My sister Joan and her husband, my husband and myself) travelled to Sweden and visited the farm in Gladsox where Kristina lived. We visited museums in Simrishamm and talked to Eric Engdahl, a local historian who took us to the farm. The farm's name is Ostermark. We don't think the information on my Grandpa Boman (John) is correct. According to Eric who wrote a book about the area, John Boman was listed as a laborer who worked on the farm where Kristina lived. His name was Jons Bosson and it was later changed to John Bohman and then John Boman. I rember my dad(Emil) saying his dad was the son of a man from Bo, hence the name. On his death certificate we found his father's name, James, but no mother's name. We couldn't find any information on where he was born and where he lived before he came to Ostermark. We couldn't find anyone who recognized that name in Jarrestad, Gladsox, or Viarp, and we couldn't find any graves with that name in those communities. I am still working on finding out more about Grandpa Boman as we were close, since he lived on the farm with us until he died when I was a freshman in highschool in Adams. I could tell you much about the farm, my siblings, and cousins, too much to write here, and I don't know how much information you have. If you wish, you may contact me on my e-mail address, romanjoy@unitelc.com. Your great-grandmother, my Aunt Bertha, was a wonderful woman and I have happy memories of our visits in Antler, ND. Who are your parents? We lost touch with our cousins as we grew up, but have recently visited with Sally and Jim. I am looking forward to your reply. Joy Boman Horejsi
