I have researched back a little bit into my Bolton family ancestors. They lived in that area and had plenty of children, sometimes with similar names to those you are seeking. Alas the paths do not obviously cross at this stage (unless further research proves otherwise).
I have found the UK census returns helpful, and sites such as FreeBMD.uk,and www.lancashirebmd.org.uk. The family history centre in Bolton were very helpful too. I'm afraid I'm not that local to the town, it's an overnight trip for me.
In my tree, I have a Thomas R Bolton, born 1900, but also died 1900. (Son of Reuben and Hannah Jones)
There is also Thomas Lane Bolton, born 1875, married Q2 1900 to Louisa Collier.
Also an Elizabeth Jane Bolton, born Q4 1866, remained unmarried.
In my seraches of the census returns there were a small handful of Bolton families in Bolton. They were not necessarily related, as there was a practice of giving the town's name (Bolton) to children born of uncertain parentage. I discovered this fron early Parish baptism registers.
I hope that this is in some way helpful, if not necessarily the silver bullet you hoped for.
