Help with parentage of John M. Bolling/Bowlin/Bolding born ca 1801 in S.C.

I am a descendent of John M. Bolding (also found as Bowlin and Bollin) and Elizabeth Cobb (maybe McCollum, McCollom, McCullum). John was born about 1801 in South Carolina. Elizabeth was born about 1804 and died in 1860. They had the following children: Mc C (aka Mack Collins)b. 1829, William A. b. 1832, John W. b 1834, Mary b. 1838, Andrew Jackson b. 1841, Alexander b. 1850. I believe they also raised a blind granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth b. 1854. Their children were born in Alabama.

I am hoping someone can help me with the father and mother of John M. If you can help with Elizabeth's name and parentage as well, I would be so grateful.

I really don't care if we are descendants of Pocohontas. Of course that rumor has existed in our family. All I really want to do is chase down the European countries we descend from. If we are related to Pocohontos, great, but I would really rather find out that my Bolding heritage is Irish. I am told in family records that Elizabeth was half Indian. If that is correct, I would like to know what tribe and if any descendents are documented in the Dawes Reports etc...

If you can help with any of this info, me and my family would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Cher Bolding Miller
