In the interest of correctness and closure, I report that I have found no evidence that Adolfo Ballivian Coll took his wife, Carmen, or their children to Bolivia. It appears that they remained in Valparaiso and/or Quillota, as Adolfo feared his family's enemies in Bolivia.

Carmen's grave is in the Cementerio No. 1, Valparaiso, and reads:
Carmen Grimwood de Ballivian
Nacio 8 de Agosto de 1834
+ 17 de Diciembre de 1915
