Hi Freddy,

Thanks for your reply. Although I had found and downloaded the full-text of the biography of Adolfo Ballivian that you referenced, I had not yet encountered therein the date of his marriage (which is listed as Dec. 22nd, not 21st).

With regard to Carmen's birth date, until now I had it as 1828, based on the following anonymous and unsubstantiated (no micro-film) IGI entry:

However, I find the date that you provide (1835) more credible in light of the mention of her extreme youth in the section of Adolfo's biography where their courting is described. If born in 1835, she would have turned 16 shortly before their marriage.
