Juan Antonio,

I can assure you that Carmen's paternal surname was Grimwood, not Greenwood. The latter is an unfortunate phonetic transcription error by someone for whom English was not their first language. Regrettably, that error has been widely disseminated and replicated, ostensibly authoritatively.

Adolfo and Carmen had a ninth child, whom you're missing: Esther, who married Carlos Gregorio Avalos, with whom she had offspring, leading to currently living descendants.

Adolfo and Carmen's daughter Carmen, my great-grandmother, married Jose Eduardo GUERRA Rynd, and also had descendants.

Whether all nine of Carmen and Adolfo's children were born in Chile I can neither confirm nor refute yet, but they definitely did not all continue living in Chile. Many, if not all, went to Bolivia. The children were born between 1852 and 1869. Adolfo, their father, was President of Bolivia 1873-1874, at which time most of the children were minors.

I will contact you by e-mail to exchange detailed information.
