Cachuela Esperanza Bolivia Cookson 1901

Hi,

I have James Bradley COOKSON of Birkenhead,
England died 20 February 1901 at Cachuela
Esperanza Rio Beni Bolivia.

Family hearsay is he died trying to save a
cabin boy. One family rumour is he was a
rubber importer. Another part of the family
says he was a sea captain. The 1871, 1881,
1891 UK censuses have him as a metal or lathe
turner.

Any ideas on how could I find anything more?

A relative in Canada tried the Bolivian
Embassy and then the British Embassy in La
Paz and received polite brush-offs.
