Nice to hear from you, I have had contact with your cousin Jim, who has sent me a copy of his lines, which I have been putting in my Family Tree Program. I have not contacted Jim for a few months, but will be doing so soon. Interesting to hear he has some daguerrotypes, I must see if I can get copies of them!
You say your grandfather was William George Helsby, and therefore you must be Margaret Anna Helsby, father William George and mother Daphne Whittle?? If that is the case then you are descended from Thomas and his first wife, Mary Gooden. I have quite a bit of basic information, but would like to get as much as possible, so would be pleased to hear from you with any details you may have on your Helsby lines going back to Thomas. In particular details on the photographic businesses, in South America and in UK, any details on places they lived, birth, marriage and death info etc.
I have tracked down a descendant of Thomas Helsby the barrister (who edited the "History of Cheshire" in 1862)and have obtained a few copies of photographs of Thomas the barrister, there is also a copy of a portrait of Thomas Helsby (of the three wives) taken around 1822. This descendant also has the original pedigree scroll of the Helsby family, which I have been sent photographs of, and I am trying to go through the info on the scroll to check with my other info.
Do you have any photographs of your Helsby line of ancestors? I would be pleased to purchase copies from you if you have. I am intending to wirte a book on the Helsby name and want as much detail as possible.
