Hello Ms. Kantzer:
I came across your posting and saw the similarities with one of my ancestors that I am researching. I am from St. James Parish Louisiana. My great great grandmother's name was Lucy Bolden. I know you have come across different spellings of this surname. And many of my spellings are different from yours but other things are similiar. My gggrandmother's father's name was Henderson Bolden. He was called Henry. He was also called Henderson Isom Bolden. He named his son Isom Bolden, Jr. which is probably Henderson Isom Bolden, Jr. Henderson Jr. (Isom Jr.) had several sons one of which was named Isom Jr. they called him Lil Isom. When Lil Isom had children they started spelling the Bolden as Bolding. In the various census records, (in which we know there are glaring spelling variations) I have seen Isom, Isome, Isam, Henderson, Henry and Bolden, Bolding and now with YOUR ancestor BOLING. My gggrandmohter also spoke of coming to Louisiana from Kentucky where YOUR search starts. There may or may not be a connection. I can give you any information I have that might help you. I have never come across Dentian Bunch at all not even in oral histories of my family. My gggrandmother's mother was named either Jane Mary Cook or Jane Ham and she came from Virginia.
Let me know if you would like to see any of my research.
