Looking for any information on James Bolin (various spellings) b. 1810-1815. He appears in Shannon Co, Mo in the 1860 census and 1870, but both he and his wife apparently died before the 1880 census. They are buried at Culpepper Cemetery, Shannon Co, MO. Early census says that he is from SC and his wife is from AL. James' wife's name was Susan Barksdale. They had 7 children..first 2 born in TN, second two in AL and the last three in MO.
It is possible that James was the 5th son of Joshua Bowling of Greene Co, TN born approx the same time. All I know about this James is that he married Ruth Walden. If both James are the same, Ruth could have been a first marriage. The oldest child born to my James was in 1838 TN and the second 1839 TN. This gives time for him to marry a second time. There is a line of Barksdales that were from TN as well.
