I have been researching Henry Bolin and Elizabeth Ann Nichols for several years. Can not track them. Elizabeth's headstone says 'wife of Henry Bolin' so we can be sure they were married. Their known children were John E. (my ggg grandfather) Sarah Ellen, and Isabelle. Elizabeth had five more children but it has been disputed as to whether or not they are Henry's children. The reason for the uncertainty is that family legend has it that Henry was killed in Newton County, Arkansas by bushwhackers circa 1862. He was decapitated and his head buried. His body was stuffed in a hollow log. Henry and Elizabeth had possibly come from Tennessee. John E. claimed to have been born in Missouri, but the other children always listed their birthplace as Arkansas. There is no census records for Henry and only 1880 for Elizabeth. Following 1880 Isabelle disappears and I am unable to find her again. John E. married four times and his second son William Henry Bolin is my great great grandfather. If anyone knows additional information I would greatly appreciate it if you contacted me.
