Is the old homestead still standing? I would love to go there sometime this summer or next. I am just north of there so it's a few hrs. drive for me. I would gladly send you a copy of his death certificate. Would you rather it be sent through email or mail? I look so forward to seeing his surveyors license. It baffles me that two of his grandchildren are alive. Would love to pick their minds and see if they knew anything. Let me know how you would like to get his death certificate and I would be glad to send you a copy! The Bolins are the only family I have rooted in Newton Co., although I am related to some Ridgleys that I believe only settled there in the early 1900's. I am currently taking a class where I have been studying the migration to the Ozarks prior to the Civil War, and if John E.'s father was from Tennessee, he was one of thousands that came from there to this area. They believe one factor was that the Ozark Mountains are so similar to the Appalachians in life style. One of my life goals is to find John E.'s father. Find out what happened to him. I just feel like he deserves something, some recognition, even if we'll never know what they really did with him (the murderers). I will send you this death certificate asap! Thanks so much again!!!
