How far back in your search are you? Is
your family from California and that includes
your grandfather? The Bolger name in Ireland
seems to be located in the area of the
following counties Wickford, Wexford, Laois
(formally Queens County), Offaly (formally
Kings County).
If you are in the area where your family
has been for a period of time start with
your local library and if they have City
directories see if you can find your family
and follow them through the years. Check
your local City hall for death, birth,
and marriages as well as the local church.
If you find a death certifciate then check
the newspaper for a notice.
If you have a name of a person but not
sure when he died the social security death
index on the internet may tell you.
Also check with the National Archives
regional office in California. I believe
there is two in the state. They have the
federal census and many other records on
microfilm to aid you.
