Ann, Thanks for posting all the great data on John Boley and his descendants. I hardly had anything on him, so I can neither add more info, nor suggest any changes.
John's family, same as his sibblings, apparently did not pass on down their grandparents names...which is the story for most of our ancestors.
I'm in hopes this MARTIN BOLINBOUGH of Rowan Co. N.C. might be Matthew's father, but of course at this point this is only a "hope". Martin was in Capt Eakle's District in 1778, Rowan Co...so with our MATTHEW BOLEYPAW being born ca 1776, Martin could well have been Matthew's father! At least Martin was old enough to be counted, so he was probably old enough to already be married and perhaps Matthew was his first-born. Everything is strictly speculation right now, but hopefully there may be "something" more about Martin Bolinbough in the films I ordered regarding the "oldest Rowan County records" from the State of N.C.If not, I have no idea where to find more about Martin but someone somewhere may have it.
I'll be on the lookout for anything related to your John Boley's family.
Jean
