Edith Boley: Michigan, Colorado, California

In the 1900 Census I found a widow, Kate B. Boley, b. Nov 1863 Mich. living in Denver, with her children, Marguerite, b. Dec. 1883, Floyd A., b. Mar. 1891 and Edith H., b. Dec. 1895. A later record shows her married to Burt Barber still living at the same address.

My interest in in Edith, my late maternal grandmother, who passed away in 1971. She gave me what information she had but I guess it was a pretty hardscrabble life for Kate and the other members of her family still left in Colorado when my grandmother married and move to California. Edith was born in Colorado but the Census shows Kate coming from Michigan where oral tradition says the Boley's were from.

I have run several searchs trying to go further back to no avail. The 1930 Census shows Marguerite, noted as "Margaret" lving with her husband in Denver w/ Floyd in the same household. It does not look as if he ever married.

Knowing the tendency for the Boley's to recycle names, I have put all that I have in this post in the hope that a Boley relative may be able to take me at least one generation further back.
