Searching for parents and origins of Evaline Ellen Bowlin from southwest MS (spelling per late John Cupit). Also found as Eveline and Bolen, etc.). Ellen was wife of Joseph Howell Gill. I'm a descendant via their daughter Mary Ann Gill.
I've searched irregularly for a number of years for Ellen's parents with only a suspicion that her father might have been an Arthur Bolen that I found in the censuses.
I have the following dates and places for Ellen:
bo. 22 April 1822 - present day Franklin Co., MS
m. 23 March 1845 - Lawrence Co., MS
d. 9 April 1904 - Franklin Co., MS
bu. Little Springs, Franklin Co., MS
I have been to and photographed her and Joseph's gravesite, where they are buried in the woods behind a present day descendant's house. I have on computer a Laird family photograph with Ellen taken in 1902 at the Presbyterian Curch in Arcola, Tangipahoa Par., LA. which I can e-mail to anyone interested. It's the only photo of her that I've run across.
