My great-great-grandfather's name was Henry Bolen. He married Polly Wolford in Jay County, IN (near Portland)in the 1860s or 1870s (can get specific dates if you're interested). They had one child, my great-grandfather, William Henry Bolen. Polly Wolford died in childbirth. My great-great grandfather left his son to be raised by a local family and was never heard from again. He did return to Portland when my great-grandfather was a teenager, approached him, announced that he was his father, and left, never to return. My great-grandfather married (Virginia Davis of Middletown, OH) and had two daughters. Thus, the Bolen name died out with his generation. If you are interested in more specific information, please let me know. I'm sure my great-great grandfather likely remarried and had a second family that we know nothing about. I would like more information.
