My grandfather, John Ezra Bolan, was born in R.I., December 19, 1861. I understnad his father, John Vaughn/Vaughan) Bohlan, was born in Douglas, the Isle of Man. He was married to Hannah Clough at St. James Church, Woonsocket, R.i. in the 1850's. My better connected Isle of Man relatives can find no record of John Vaughan Bohlan's birth -- so perhaps not everyone is registered? I'm not sure where this inquiry takes me -- since this is a first-time experience!
