After checking some census data, I feel I must make an adjustment to some things I said before. In Pontoto Co., MS there is a family with an Elizabeth: William Bolling, 24, M, farmer personal estate $1000, b. AL Mary, 18, F, b. NC Mary Hunter, 40, F, b. NC William Rainer, 16, M, laborer, b. NC Elizabeth, 12, F, b. NC In the 1860 census this family appears: Elizabeth, 62, F, b. SC [Atalissa?], 27, F, b. AL Calvin P., 24, M, b. AL Marion J., 21, M, b. AL Elizabeth [C.], 18, F, b. AL Moses A., 8, M, b. AL There is also this family: Sarah Bolding, 87, F, personal estate $100, b. NC Julia A., 15, F, b. MS James M., 13, M, b. MS Mary [C. or O?], 9, F, b. MS Elizabeth A., 7, F, b. MS Joseph [Wm.], 6, M, b. MS Nanny [U.?], 4, F, b. MS On the same census my own Bolling family appears and there *is* an Elizabeth which I have pondered over before: James P. Bolding, 46, M, Physician, real estate $3000, personal estate $15,000, b. KY Elizabeth, 32, F, b. MS Mary [F.?], 10, F, b. MS Martha A., 8, F, b. MS Sarah E., 7, F, MS Elizabeth C., 5, F, b. MS Rachel [C.], 3, F, b. MS Lousetta A., 2, F, b. MS [?], 1, F, b. MS Sarah West, 64, F, b. SC We don't know anything about this Elizabeth who doesn't show up on any other record we have. It may be that Elizabeth C. is actually Cornelia who appears on later censuses. It was typical of some in this family never to use the first name. Lousetta, we believe, is actually Amelia. When Elizabeth and Lousetta disappear, Cornelia and Amelia appear. Hope this helps a bit. Kathryn
