I am desperately seeking information on my Boldings. I think that they may be distantly connected to the Franklin Co, AL Boldings.

My Marvel Bolding/Bolling was born about 1800 in South Carolina (I have also been told it was North Carolina, but have only seen South Carolina in the Census). He married Sarah Steelman b abt 1802 South Carolina. They were married May 30, 1822 Jefferson County, Alabama. They had these children (Maybe more):

1. Enoch Bense (Benson) Bolding b 1823 South Carolina d June 28, 1899 Yalobusha County, Mississippi. He married Milly E. Murphree, daughter of Roland Jenkins Murphree and Polly Steelman (Sister of Sarah Steelman, above).

2. James S. Bolding b 1830 South Carolina d Abt. 1900 West Carroll Parish, LA m Elizabeth Jane Woodall

3. Lucy A. Bolding b abt 1834
4. Milly A. Bolding b abt 1836
5. Sarah E. Bolding b abt 1838
6. Martha M. Bolding b abt 1840

Enoch Benson Bolding and Milly E. Murphree had these children:
1. William Roland Bolding m Canzada Seamans
2. Mary E. Bolding
3. Franklin Jenkins Bolding m Ettie Kinney
4. Caroline E. Bolding
5. Sarah Jane Bolding
6. Jefferson Bolding
7. James Bolding
8. Anna L. Bolding m ? Martin
9. Julia Bolding m Wiley Sylvan Davis

All born in Yalobusha County, Mississippi

My line went from there to West Carroll Parish, Louisiana.

Thanks for any clues you may have to help with this line!

Noel Parrish
