Both of these Elizabeth's were daus. of a William and both Williams had ties to Ernestown at one time. Elizabeth Boice Staker was born prior to 1819 to William (born 1783) & Margaret Comer Boice. Wm & Margaret sold their land in Ernestown, Lennox & Addington, in 1811 (deed) and are in Loughborough Twp by 1819 when family by names are on that twp. census. This Elizabeth md. Conrad Staker & family went to Kirtland, Ohio in the great Mormon exodus winter of 1837/38 and then on to Illinois where Elizabeth died and Conrad Staker remarried to Rhody Hamilton 7/6/1844.
The other William (1816-1900) md Hannah Snook, & family remained in Ernestown. This Wm & Hannah's dau. Elizabeth md. Amos Snider and died some years into mg. & he remarried.
(Tombstones in Union Cem.) Does anyone have info as to father of 1816 born William is. Some well intentioned people, but poor in research skills have assigned 1816 William as a father of more than several Elizabeth's and the information has been regenerated through the LDS Family Search programs IGI, Pedigree Resource File, FTM, Rootsweb trees, etc.. The William Boice of Dundas Ontario who is probably he who md. Elizabeth Larkin has also been assigned as this same 1816 William, based on oral tradition or "name is same so must be our family! This is an appeal to any descendents of the above Elizabeth's for primary source documentation, or genealogical standards of proof for their assignment of the William's as father, particularly the William BoI/Yce, father of Elizabeth Boice, w/o Amos SnI/Yder.
