Major William Bohon was a major in McAfee's Company, 15th Kentucky Militia in the War of 1812. He was appointed Major General under Major General Andrew Jackson and while fighting in floriday in 1814. Jackson became the 7th President of the USA. Major William Bohon moved with Major General Jackson to New Orleans. On Jan. 8, 1815 they met the English. The battle cost the English 2000 lives and the US lost 71 men. The said thing about this battle is that a peace treaty, The Treaty of Ghent, was signed on Dec. 24, 1814 but Major General Jackson had not heard of the peace.
Major William Bohon is buried at the New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Marion Co., MO.
