I AM A DESCENDANT OF JOHANN BOHN WHO CAME FROM GERMANY THRU PHILADELPHIA IN THE MID 1700`S AND SETTLED IN FRIZZLEBURG MARYLAND. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE ORIGINAL GERMAN SPELLING WAS "BOHNE", WITH OOMLATS OVER THE O. THIS WOULD HAVE MADE THE ORIGINAL PRONUNCIATION CLOSER TO BUN. WE USE THE PRONUNCIATION BOON.
