In searching a friends ancestry, we found that Campbell Bohannan, b 1811, Putnam Co., Tn is the 3rd ggrandfather of my friend. Campbell's father ( not confirmed by me) was James Bohannan, b. 1805 Sevier Co., Tn. James and his wife Easter Ogle had three known sons, Campbell, John and George.Campbell was married several times , first wife not known, but by the dates on the web it could have been Agnes Buck.One son Claiborn Bohannan married unknown and had a son George Curtis Bohannan. This George Bohannan apparently moved to New Mexico before 1897. There he had a son, Virgil Bohannan. (Virgil's middle names' spelling is not clear but his family knew it as Castall.)Virgil was a police officer in Clovis NM in 1950/51. He died at Sudan Livestock in Sudan, Texas in July 1964, the reason he passed is unknown.
Braxton Bohannan has not shown up in my search of this family, but he could be a brother of George Curtis Bohannan
