My name is Zach Bogue I live in Indiana and i have been researching our family tree. I have found out that a majority of the Bogue family came over and colonized in North Carolina. I'm not a 100% sure if we all came from that area or not, but I am 100% sure that Bogue means From the residence being near a bog, or from the Saxon boga, a bend, a bow, a corner; a town in France; the name appears on ancient coins in Sussex, England. I hope this little bit of information will help out. Also, there was a WW2 submarine the U.S.S. Bogue. This submarine sank 11 Nazi Ships and 2 Japanese ships, and in North Carolina there is an actual town named Bogue. Hopefully this can help answer some questions and who knows...perhaps we could be of relation.
