I have another lines of Boggs from Jackson County, Georgia that will futher put a twist to this mystery---it certainly has us baffled! Bonnie and I have emailed one another before, but the rest of you might find something of interest in my line of Boggs who also have a James. Here is what I have (it's a bit long...):

       George Washington Brown appears on the roster of "Recruits Since May 1861"

FN 2/12/1878 Mr. G.W. Brown sells guano to the farmers.
FN 1/23/1880 Messrs. Brown & Chandler have increased the force in their shoe
factory, thus enlarging their business.

Notes for LUCRECIA EVALINEN "ELLIE" BOGGS:
       At the location where Ellie is buried, there is also a child's grave very close to her's with cement covering it and marbles embadded all over the top of it. She was living with A. Arizony (Albert M. Barnes, her son and then after he died, his wife and her nephew She also lived earlier with daughter, Martha Virginia Barnes Wade) Ellie died on her 99th birthday! A. Arizony has baked her a white birthday cake and when they went to her bedroom to get her, she had already passed away.
       When she died, she just went to sleep, opened her eyes and looked at her children, and then just went to sleep (died). She had done this throughout her life, just fall asleep for long periods.
       She could read and write (we have her signature)

Barnes, aged 15, lived right next door to Capt. James Boggs and Lennah Tolbert Boggs...so the Barnes and Boggs families lived next door to one another and probably met that way!
