The following was sent to William Werner by Richard Schramm:
Thomas C. Bogart was my great great grandfather. Other than the census records of 1850 and 1860 and a military pension there is little written about him. His son George L. Bogart was my great grandfather. He married Mary Wallace. They had 3 children. My grandfather was Ray Wallace Bogart. George and his wife lived around Lakeview for awhile which is in Logan County where most of her family resided. Many of the Wallaces’s moved up north to Auglaize County. George and Mary eventually settled in Bellefontaine. Their daughter, Gertrude, lived with them probably until they passed. They are buried there in Bellefontaine along with Gertrude. Gertrude married later on in life but never had any childern. Her last name on her tombstone is Wren. The other son, Clarence Bogart moved to Findley,Ohio which is where he lived his life out and is his final resting place. He had 2 sons and one daughter I believe. My grandfather, Ray, married a Martha Inskeep in Bellefontaine. She died a year later. I think she was 21 when she passed. Ray Wallace Bogart was now a widower and he moved to Lima, Ohio. He married Leona Blunden and they had one son. Gene Wallace Bogart. Ray passed away a few years later and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima. Eventually Leona joined him there. My parents divorced when I was very young. My birth name was Richard Eugene Bogart. I was adopted and became Richard Eugene Schramm. I am in the process of requesting my records to be unsealed so I can rightfully claim my name as Bogart. My dad remarried and had 2 daughters. He passed on and now resides in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, Ohio. The Bogart’s from Putnam County began to migrate south and some of them lived in Bluffton and may still to this day. I believe there are some of them buried in Maple Grove with my Dad. His wife and daughters still live close to him in Bluffton and the immediate area.
In the 1860 census there was an Elias Bogart listed as age 9 which may be of interest. Also, in the Woodlawn Cemetery I came across a large group of Bogart’s quite by accident. I documented all the headstones. Strangely enough there was an Isaac W. Bogart 1850 to 1932 and a Harry M. Bogart 1896 to 1965. Both of these names sounded familiar but I couldn’t place them at the time. Anyway, most of this is in my head so I hope someone can use some of it.
I am a full time RVer and my wife and I live on the road. So I can be easily reached at:

Richard
