Ervin,
I have notes in my file that says there is some conflicting data on John Boen and that John R. Boen and John Berry Boen could be different people. And it is also not entirely clear he was the son of Allen J. Boen as it has been suggested. So there you go.
I have him listed as being born February 02, 1844 and died January 25, 1911 and buried in the Rosetta Cemetary, Johnson County, Arkansas.Wife as Sarah Jane Brison m: March 06, 1873.Listed as children (or possible children) I have:
Mary Ann "Molly" b: 1875
Henry Eli b: 1877
Martha Caroline "Lina" b: 1878 AR
William A. "Will" b: 1881 AR
Jane A "Janie Ina" b: 1883
Martin Levi b: 1886 AR
Joseph "Joe" Harrison b: 1889 AR
James Arthur b: 1891 AR
I have...
John Boan b: 1844 TN
John R. Boen b: 1844 TN
John Bowen b: 1854 AR
John Berry Boen as father of James Arthur Boen
John R. Boen b: February 02, 1844 Illinois
John Berry "Bud" Boen b: February 02, 1844 (or 1854 IL or AR
Here is some data I have:
Newton Co. AR 1850 Census
Allen J. Boan age 30 b TN
Martha Boan age 25 b TN
Elizabeth J. Boan age 8 b TN
John Boan age 6 b TN
Sarah A. age 4 b TN
James M. age 2 b AR
Martha age 1 b AR
FROM:Pat Miller
In a book "The History of Newton County, Arkansas" published in the late 1940's:
Allen J. Boen b 1820 Tennssee. Was a farmer, Sheriff of Newton County 1850-1854. m Martha ? b 1825 Tennessee
Children
Elizabeth J. Boen b 1842 Tennessee
John R. Boen b 1844 Tennessee
Sarah Boen b 1846 Tennessee
James M Boen b 1848 Arkansas
Marhta Boen b 1849 Arkansas
FROM:Linda Elliott
1880 Madison County Census:
Bowen, John, 26 AR
S J, 26 TN
M A, 5 AR
H E, 3 AR
M C, 1, AR
James, sibling 17 AR
M A f sibling 14 AR
FROM:Pat Miller
The SS number application form for James Arthur Boen says his father John Berry Boen and mother Sarah Brison.
Illinois as the birth place has come up on other Boens too and is a bit confusing to some researchers. But there is a definite connection but how it all fits together with some lines is what is confusing.
And yes, please send me the information you have.
