Robert BODRY , from MA and/or CT, 1914-1991
Posted by: Tor Welch Date: November 25, 2001 at 17:18:41
  of 51

Seeking roots of:

Robert BODRY, b. 9 Feb 1914, MA(?)or CT(?); d. 30 Oct 1991, Somers, Tolland, CT.(?) He had a sister, Alice BODRY.

Robert served as CAPT in US Army, WWII. Served in Italian campaign.

Later employed as engineer at, and retired from, Pratt & Whitney Corp. in Hartford, CT.

Wife's name: Margaret b. 1 Jun 1918 MA(?)or CT(?); d. Sep 1988, Somers, Tolland, CT.

Two children, daughters: Lynn(e) and Myrle, both b. Springfield, MA in early 1940's. Both daughters married, and moved out of the area (to Indiana, and California respectively).

Robert BODRY stated that his branch of the surname probably originated in Alsace-Lorraine on the French/German border; and that it had changed spelling over the years.

Robert, and his sister Alice, also implied that there was a strong line of Native American blood in his/their background.

Can anyone help me with this family from western Connecticut/Massachusetts?

Thanks for your help.

Tor Welch
