In searching Burlington County, NJ
records I came across info. on a Thomas
Bodine. The only reference was a entry in
the minutes book of Little Egg Harbor Twsp,
Burlington Co., NJ dated 3/14/1786 which
stated that Thomas Bodine was nominated for
the position of Surveyor of Highways. This
is the only reference to this Thomas Bodine
that I have found. I did find a tombstone
for a Thomas F. Bodine, Methodist Cemetary
Pemberton, NJ which stated b.6/4/1791d.
1/15/1849. Wife Mary Ann, b.12/19/1797 d.
1/15/1849. Also a daughter, name unknown,
d.12/1/1841 in her 25th year of life.
This may be the son or grandson of Thomas
the Surveyor of Highways. There then may be
another Bodine between these two, b. about
1771. The Thomas, Surveyor of Highways,
may be a brother of Joel,Francis, John and
James of Wading River, NJ All born in
1740s. James moved to Virginia,Joel moved
to Berlin, NJ and Francis and John
remained in Burlington Co., NJ
Attn: Dave Bodine. Would these two Thomas
Bodines fit in with any info. you have?
