Joseph J. Boddie

Joseph was a minor at the time of his father's death in 1837 and was raised by his appointed guardian, Abraham Turner and his wife Judith who was Joseph's sister. Joseph married Caroline Franklin, daughter of Goodman Franklin. The Turner's and the Franklin's moved together through GA into Russell County, AL. Census records show them there, and in 1845 Joseph and Caroline were married there. They all moved to what was then Coosa County, AL, which later became Elmore County. Joseph and Caroline had several children, but our line is Joseph Milton Boddie to Roy Milton Boddie to John Milton Boddie who was my husband's father. After Caroline's death Joseph J. married Laura Thompson and had one son, Jackson Jefferson who married Lydia Hann.
I have census records, marriage records, a copy of Joshua's will and a copy of the disposition of the will.
John Bennett Boddie made a mistake in his book, "Seventh Century Isle of Wight": page 384; this Joseph, b. 1806 is the son of Joshua's brother Nathan. Also on same page, Judith married Abraham Turner not Absolom.
