Hello Joe... "Family lore" has it that originally two Bobinger brothers immigrated from Germany together, but went their separate ways after landing.It is speculation that perhaps Florian Bobinger was the 2nd brother.Pennsylvania Census, 1772-1890 has a FLORIAN BOBINGER listed is Philadelphia Co., PA.Our original Bobinger, "Dutch" John "Johann Valentin" Bobinger, passed through Pennsylvania as well.The “Dutch” is misleading, as it may lead one to assume he came from Holland.I received a correspondence from someone with roots in Germany, who stated that it was most likely meant to be “Deutsch”, implying someone from Germany; or Deutschland as the Germans call their country; but with the Mississippi accent and all it eventually translated into “Dutch” John.Both the name John and Florian are common names used throughout our family tree.Please keep me posted as to your search leads.Kind regards…
