Being new to this and having moved to the area where I know some of my roots have begain I am searching for any information on the Rogers(Rodgers), Bobbitt, and Plye who where from Douglass, Weches, Alto, Texas area. This area covers Houston, Cherokee and Nacogdoches Counties. I am not really sure how to start on all of this so I will do my best to list what I know and hope to learn more from there. J.B. Rogers born around 1881 in Texas married O.D. Hamby born around 1880 in Louisiana. They lived in Alto, Texas at the time my grandmother was born and had a total of 8 childern I know of where born. Childern where: Elsie Rogers (female child) Mac & Maxine Rogers (male and female twins) June Rogers (male child) Clyde Rogers (male child) Arthur Rogers (male child) Lane Rogers (male child) Audrey Rodie Lee Rogers (female child born 11-03-1915) my grandmother Dollie (???? my grandmothers baby sister who died think under the age of 10) My grandmother married Harvey Bobbitt and my mother Bettie Gene Bobbitt was born 09-25-1932. I know that Maxine married Wayne Plye, Elsie married a Phiffer and had a daughter Nellie. Mac married and had two boys Ronnie and Roy, June marrie Leila Rae (maden name unknow) and had Talmadge, O.J., Doris, Vivian, Linda, Carolyn, Earlene, and Clarace. J.B. Rogers was killed in Weches, Texas on the Berryman Farm where he worked around June 2, 1932. June Rogers lived in Alto and was killed in Bulah Community outside of Rusk sometime in 1969 I think (newpaper clipping has no date). Note: my grandmother B.C. shows her name spelled ROGERS yet my mothers B.C. shows my grandmothers name was spelled RODGERS, it also shows her first name was ROSALEE instead of Audrey. I am in need of finding living relatives to these people that can tell me if there where ever any Caldwell's that married into the family and to give me more information on our background. Please email me at Seminoleranch@aol.com Thanks, Mindy Ps) I was cut off from the family at a very young age but I remeber the yearly gathering was at a park (for the Rogers) not too far from the Caddo Mounds in Weches.
