Elizabeth Retina Bobbitt married Joseph Calvin Long 14 Oct 1852 in Stone County, MO. She died while giving birth to John Henry Long on 12 Dec 1859. In the 1850 Franklin County AR census, Retina shows up as the 3rd child to John J Bobbitt of KY, and Martha of Georgia. In fact, an older sister, Sarah, that does not show up on the census was with her when she died, and she was born in Alabama. In the 1850 census, Sarah is married to John Henry Long of Carroll County, AR (guess they named the baby after the uncle). Therefore, John J from KY married Martha ? of Georgia, had 2 cildren in AL, then moved to AR about 1834-37. Anyone having any further information would be appreciated :-)
