Thank you for posting the W.L. Bobbitt Record. I have been looking for a connection with Arthur Bobbitt and Mary Smelley and their children, 2 in particular. Mariah Francis Married Abner Jones who I am a decsendent of, their 12th daughter Susan Elizabeth Jones b.1854 who married Charles Wesley Brannon (my name is Stacey Brannon Barkwill)They are my GG grandparents.They had one child Kent Kane Brannon b.1887, Also Mariah Bobbitt's Bother Willis Smelly Bobbitt b.1828 had a daughter Mary Bobbitt b.1858 who married Charles Wesley Brannon's
brother Willie James Brannon B.1853 my uncle,
they had one child Mary Dow Brannon b.1880.
When Mariah Bobbitt Jones died in 1877, Abner
then remarried to a Nancy Elizabeth Marett Brannon b.1836, Charles Wesley and Willie James Brannon's Mother. Nancy Brannon's husband died in 1878. I have to asume that Abner Jones and Mariah, and Nancy and her husband James Wesley Brannon lived in the same area in Mississippi. Nancy and Abner Jones married Abt. 1880. (No children) Several of Mariah and Abner's children and Grandchildren married James Wesley and Nancy Brannon's Children. Nancy and James had 9 kids. Step brother's and Sister's ect.
It was confusing to sort out at my end.

A list of James Wesley Brannon and Nancy Elizabeth Marett children-Willie James Brannon B.1853, James Hodges Brannon b.1855, Emma Dow Brannon b.1857, David Blackburn Brannon b.1859, Charles Wesley Brannon b. 1861, Lou Fannie "Lucy" Brannon b.1862, Bennie Scott Brannon b.1869, Newton Moss Brannon b.1872,and Edna Earl Brannon b.1876.
Now I will list who married who-Charles Wesley Brannon m.Susan Elizabeth Jones 1882,
Willie James Brannon m. Mary Bobbitt 1879(Mary is Mariah's brother Willis Bobbitt's daughter),
Pickeron Jones m.Alcesta H. Ruddle 1856, their son Abner Adolphus Jones b.1858 m.Lou Fannie "Lucy" Brannon 1879,
America Ann Jones m. Jonathan Potts Massey 1860, Their daughter Lurah Potts Massey b.1862 married David Blackburn Brannon 1883.
A lot of marriages within the same family though none were related by blood(thank god)

Thanks again for posting the W.L. Bobbitt Records. It finally made the connection I was looking for about Arthur Bobbitt and Mary Smelly's Children I now have so many GGGGGGGGGG grandparents and so on I never would have made a connection with!!!!!
