Miles Bobbitt, Pvt, 1st NC Cavalry

I am descended from Miles Bobbitt who was from the Warren/Nash Counties, North Carolina, area and who was a private in the 1st North Carolina Cavalry during the War Between the States. Family tradition says that he was captured and that when he came home from the war he "threw his sword and rifle in Fishing Creek and never spoke of the war." The tradition is a little inconsistent – I don’t think the Feds would have let a POW keep his weapons. He probably just came home when the regiment disintegrated after the battle at Namozine Church, just before Appomatox. Does anyone have any more information about him?
