Hi Linda (and also Jon Peterson):
I found these burials in "Pleasant Hill" Cemetary in Nacogdoches TX. You'll see when you read this, that this "Ella Scroggins" married the son of John Thomas Boatman. This making Ella the daughter-in-law of John Thomas Boatman, of course. Could this "Ella" Scroggins be Ellen Scroggins Kolb Matlock? If they are one and the same, then that might explain another reason why John Thomas was involved in having her committed to the asylum. What do you think? I'll keep researching this to find clues on 'who' this "Ella" is. Let me know what you come up with.
