What an interesting reply - lovely. Linstead Magna, Listead Parva and Metfield are in Suffolk, in East Anglia. They are fairly close to the county of Norfolk.
I, too, thought Boast a rare name, but when I sat down in the Lowestoft Record Office the lady next to me said Boast was fairly common!
When you look at the census returns there are quite a few. All of us doing research on the name in Sufoflk feel that they must be related if only we can all find the links.
