JOHN BOAST and wife, MARY CHARLOTTE (DOWNMAN)
parents of JOHN, ELLSWORTH BURR, MARY, and
JANE BOAST, lived in Petersburg, VA until JOHN, Sr's death, 1832, then his widow and childlren moved to Richmond City, VA. where she remarried. No record of her after 1840. By 1843, sons were in Marengo Co., Al, where JOHN married, had family, and died after Civil War. His grandfather may also have been named JOHN BOAST. Am able to find very little about family of my gramdfather ELLSWORTH BURR BOAST, who changed his name to BOUST during Mex. War. Difficult to research because surname sometimes got printed as BOST, BOOST, BOUSH, BEAST, BONST.
